Brown Rice:

Use 2-1/4 cups of liquid for every 1 cup of rice.

Option 1:

Measure desired amount of rice and liquid into an appropriately sized saucepan.  If desired, add 1 tablespoon of butter and salt to taste.  Heat to boiling, stirring once or twice.  Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 40-45 minutes.  If liquid is not fully absorbed, replace lid and cook 2 to 4 minutes longer.

1 cup of dry rice will yield 3 cups of cooked rice.

 

White Rice - Long and Medium Grain:

Use 2 cups of liquid for every 1 cup of rice.

Option 1:
